Henry Barclay Swete (1835-1917)
Swete was a tireless, conservative Anglican scholar. A clergyman's son, he was born in Bristol, educated at King's College, London, and at Cambridge. We was professor of pastoral theology at King's College (1882-90), issued the Old Testament in Greek (3 volumes), 1887-91, and became regius professor of divinity at Cambridge in 1890 until his retirement in 1915.
